President Trump and his administration held an event at the White House on Tuesday where several of the top women in the Trump administration will attend a panel to speak with “women from various backgrounds and experiences” that are attending from all over the country.
Those leading the panel included the President’s daughter and advisor Ivanka Trump, as well as counselor to the President Kellyanne Conway, Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security Kirstjen Nielsen, Secretary of Transportation Elaine Chao, and White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders.
Lindsey Walters, White House spokeswoman says that the panel will allow women from across the country to speak with officials about “what has been accomplished to date to advance women at home, and in the workplace.”
“As part of an ongoing conversation this administration has been having with American women there will be a focus on the economy, health care and national security during the President’s first year in office.”
President Trump was not expected to attend due to time constraints but near the end of the panel he surprised all the women in the room with a visit and brief speech.
“I wasn’t very far away so I said ‘I would love to do this. This is fun!”
In all, more than 200 women were in attendance to listen to President Trump’s inspiring words.
“I’m honored to stand here with the women from across the administration … they have been incredible. … Women represent half of the population but they care about 100% of the issues that face the nation.”
Trump then let them know just how much women have advanced under his administration.
“Women’s unemployment is at the lowest level that it’s been in 17 years. Women in the workforce reached a record high. … I feel very proud of that.”
President Trump is committed to elevating all Americans to more wealth and prosperity and bringing this country back to its greatness that we all knew it could.
