The Mikdash Educational Center, an Israeli organization, recently minted coins featuring the profile of U.S. President Donald Trump to honor his December 6 declaration recognizing Jerusalem as Israel’s capital.

The biblical half-shekel coins, dubbed the Temple Coins, also bear the image of ancient Persian King Cyrus, who allowed the Jewish people to return to the holy city after their exile in Babylon 2,500 years ago, and the following engraved message: Cyprus—Balfour—Trump Declaration 1917-2018.

According to the Mikdash Educational Center’s website, the coins “express we are part of a historical and divine process towards the recognition of all mankind of the historical role of Jerusalem.” The organization minted 1,000 coins, which can be purchased with a minimum $50 donation to the Mikdash Educational Center.

While the coins hold no monetary value, the organization explained that it hopes that they will be used “in a new era in the land of Israel, when the temple will be rebuilt.”
